FAQ

How do breaks and timing work in Bluebook?

  • Students start their own test by entering a code their proctor reads at the end of the script.

  • Bluebook times each student individually and displays a timer, which students can hide if they prefer.

  • Proctors don’t time students or announce time remaining.

  • If start times are slightly staggered, break times will be too.

  • Bluebook tells students when to take their break

  • SAT Weekend students can leave the room without asking the proctor to dismiss them.

  • Students who take unscheduled breaks lose testing time.
