Network Requirements

Get notified about Bluebook releases and other news.

Bluebook testing won’t work unless these network requirements are met.

Internet Access

An internet connection is required at the start and end of the test, but students can keep testing if their connection drops momentarily.

Make sure testing staff and students can access the internet. You may need to set up guest access.

  • SAT Weekend test centers: Some students and staff will use personal devices or be unaffiliated with your institution.
  • Schools: Depending on your policy, students and staff using personal devices or unaffiliated with your school may need internet access.

Network Speed

The table below includes the bandwidth requirements for each test.

Keep in mind that demands on the network vary as student progress through the test—and that progress is never perfectly simultaneous because each student starts their test when they enter a code. Even students hearing the start code at the same time will enter it at slightly different times.
