Why are my school’s Chromebooks getting errors about verified mode even though I enabled it?
If verified mode is configured correctly on a Chromebook running a supported version of ChromeOS, you shouldn’t receive an error message. The issues described below could generate an error message.
Verified mode is only partially enabled. Correct configuration includes two parts, allowing enterprise challenge and requiring verified mode boot. Make sure both parts were completed. Tip: The email required in part 2 must be entered without capital letters, spaces, or other modifications.

The device is running ChromeOS Flex. To keep our tests secure, we prohibit testing on ChromeOS Flex, which is run on old PCs and Macs. Only devices built as Chromebooks can pass the verified mode check.
To find out if a device is running ChromeOS Flex:
Open the Chrome browser.
Enter chrome://version in the address bar.
Locate the customization ID. If it’s reven, the device is running ChromeOS Flex.
