How do I configure Chromebook verified mode in a higher organizational unit?
If you’re configuring verified mode in an organizational unit (OU) higher than the OU where Bluebook is installed, follow these alternate instructions for requiring verified boot mode.
Before you start: Complete Part 1 and Part 2 on How to Install Bluebook on Chromebooks or complete Part 1 on Enabling Verified Mode.
- Use your administrator account to sign in to your Admin console at admin.google.com.
- In the OU where Bluebook is installed, go to Devices > Chrome > Settings.
- Click the Device Settings tab at the top of the screen and select Verified mode.
Important: If you don’t see the device settings tab, you might not have the necessary permissions. Contact someone else in your IT department.
- Switch the Inheritance option from locally applied to inherited so that this OU inherits the verified mode setting from its parent OU.
- Click Save.
- Navigate to the higher OU and go to Devices > Chrome > Settings.
- Click the Settings tab and select Verified mode.
- Make sure Inheritance is set to Locally applied.
- Set Configuration to Require verified mode boot for verified access.
- Paste the email below in to the Services with full access field:
- Click Save.
- Return to How to Install Bluebook on Chromebooks or Enabling Verified Mode to check your work.
