Toolkit Setup for School-Based Accommodations at a Test Center

Students registered to take SAT Weekend with certain accommodations are usually tested by the SSD coordinator at their school rather than a test center. These school-based accommodations include screen reader, paper testing, human reader, braille accommodations, and others.

School SSD coordinators sometimes ask test center coordinators to administer the test to these students on a Saturday (or Sunday). In rare cases, College Board might ask them to test students with school-based accommodations who don’t attend their school.

Access and Setup

Even when they test at a weekend test center, students with school-based accommodations are listed on their own roster in a different Test Day Toolkit administration. To access that roster:

  1. Go to the Choose a Test Administration page in Test Day Toolkit.

  2. In the test site dropdown menu, select the school option (with a 6-digit AI code).

  3. In the administration dropdown menu, select the upcoming SAT with “school-based accommodations” in parentheses.

  • If you don’t see an AI test site option and a school-based accommodations administration option, call 866-630-9305 or +1 212-713-8000 (international) to request access.

  1. Check the All Students page for any students testing over multiple days.

    • Students who test over 2 days are listed twice, once with “Day 1” after their name and once with “Day 2” after their name.

  2. If none of your students are testing over 2 days, go to SAT Weekend Setup and complete steps 2–11.

  3. If some students are testing over 2 days, follow the instructions below.

Set Up for Two-Day Testing

  1. Complete steps 2–4 on SAT Weekend Setup to add staff.

  2. Identify students and determine room needs.

    • If you have just one student testing over 2 days, you’ll need 2 virtual rooms in Test Day Toolkit (1 for each day) even if they’re testing in the same physical room both days.

    • If you have multiple students testing over 2 days, check their accommodations to determine if they can test together in the same room. To minimize disruption, avoid seating students with the different timing in the same room.

  3. Add rooms.

    • Navigate to All Rooms.

    • Select Create new rooms from the Add Rooms dropdown menu, then use the table to name each room and give it a seating capacity.

    • Include “Day 1” or “Day 2” in each room name.

  4. Assign students to rooms.

    • On the All Students page, select the students you want to assign to the same room.

    • Use the Action dropdown menu to move them to rooms in bulk.

  5. Complete steps 9–11 on SAT Weekend Setup.
