Final Readiness Checklist for SAT Weekend

It’s almost time to take the SAT—just a few more steps and you’re there. 

Important: These instructions are customized for students taking the SAT at a test center on the weekend. Complete instructions for all test takers are available at Prepare Your Device. 

Device Prep and Final Check

If you haven’t taken the steps below, get them done as soon as possible:

  1. Download Bluebook.
  2. Sign in with your College Board account.
  3. Complete exam setup and generate your admission ticket.
  4. To avoid issues during check-in, make sure the personal information on your homepage is accurate and matches your ID.  
  5. To make sure you can connect on test day, take your device somewhere other than your school or home network and connect to Wi-Fi. 

Test Day Morning: Final Device Check

To avoid the most common issues that prevent testing, take these steps before leaving for your test center:

  1. Connect to the internet. Chromebooks: Connect without signing in to your device.
  2. Close and reopen Bluebook.
  3. Click Test Your Device to make sure your device still has enough free space.
  4. Sign in.
  5. Review test center information on your Bluebook homepage. Find out when you can check in to your test center, make sure it isn’t closed, and get other last-minute messages.
  6. Personal devices: Disable parental controls and content filters, and check all other required device settings.
  7. Chromebooks: If you need to clear space, close Bluebook and sign in to your Chromebook.
  8. Charge your battery. 

Packing List

Remember to bring these required items:

  • Your testing device.
  • A valid physical ID. Check ID requirements.
  • Your admission ticket.  
  • Your College Board sign-in credentials.
  • Wired, non-Bluetooth headphones if you’re approved to use Text-to-Speech.

Learn about the optional items you can bring, and remember to leave prohibited items at home.
