A student using a Chromebook gets an error message that gstatic.com is blocked.

A Chromebook displays the error message “www.gstatic.com is blocked” when it’s connected to a network but doesn’t have internet access. Take these steps to address the issue: 

  1. Press and hold the power button and select Sign Out to exit Bluebook.  

  2. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the lower right corner.  

  3. Choose the wireless network used for testing. 

  4. If the network window opens, click the Sign In button and skip to step 6. 

  5. If a new window doesn’t open, make sure you selected the correct network, then click the settings icon in the network window, and click the Sign In button. 

  6. Select Continue to site in the browser window that opens. 

  7. Sign in to the testing network. 

  8. To make sure the device is fully connected, look for the word “Connected” under the Wi-Fi name or in the network connections window.
